Before moving home to north east Aberdeenshire in early 2017, I made many trips to the New Forest, Hampshire in pursuit of the Ridge Trees project which concentrated on a specific area of the Forest. All the photographs in the project are concerned with mist, autumn or winter and were made at the cusp of dawn. The Forest is transformed by mist especially when seen through a plantation of beautifully straight pines unencumbered by high bracken and undergrowth. The mist softens and filters the light.
